Hi everyone! I know I recently posted a review about my favorite Morphe brushes, but not too long ago I received an email from a company called Mikasa Beauty with an offer to check out their website and they offered me a 40% off my purchase. They are a fairly new company out of Vancouver, BC, they specialize in delivering quality makeup brushes at affordable prices. When I saw the email of course I became curious about the brushes and responded which in turn led me to purchasing the 8 Piece Essential Kit set, I also got one of the blushes and they sent me their lemon drop beauty sponge for free. I wanted to test them out and see how they perform and review it for you guys.

Let's get into it, I'll go through each piece that I used, just FYI, I am going to take the description for each brush directly from their site, and then add my thoughts for each:
E230 Eye Shader Brush: A must have eye shadow brush with a firm, tapered, rounded head. This brush is perfect for controlled application of emollient or powder eyeshadows.
What I liked most about this brush is that it really delivered when it came to the packing of the shadow without a lot of fall out and helped out with precision. For someone like me, who's not a makeup artist, I like brushes that actually help me when applying the products lol. I want to make sure I get a clean application with minimal mess! This brush did that.
E300 Blending Brush: Best used for controlled blending and smudging of eye shadows, this tapered medium sized brush has soft bristles and a rounded top.
WOW guys!!! This brush is a blending brush sent from above! lol–not even exaggerating. It is absolutely amazing. I started to blend my transition shade and I was like wait a minute, that is so clean! This brush is amazing for blending all over the eye, but you can also get in the crease nicely without having to change brushes to get a nice application. This brush is definitely a must have.
E310 Pencil Brush: This brush has a small, rounded tapered tip that allows for precise application and smudging of powder products. It can be used to soften eyeliners or to highlight inner corners of eyes.
This brush was amazing for tight line application and for inner corners of the eyes!
F100 Powder Brush: This soft, luxurious brush with a rounded head is perfect for light all-over application and uniform blending of powder products.
You know I'm a big fan of big fluffy brushes! So when I saw the size of this brush I couldn't wait to try it! Since I don't typically use powders to set my entire face, I used it to apply bronzer; I loved the round shape of the brush, it really helped keep the bronzer nicely in the "contour" areas without dragging the powder down too much! I also loved that it felt really soft on my face! My only complaint is that the brush had a little bit of shedding, but after washing it, I used it the next day and there was no more shedding so I think it is probably a good idea to wash them before you use them.
F111 Blush Brush: A dome shaped brush with natural bristles that's ideal for precise application of powder face products. Use this brush to perfectly apply and blend blush and bronzer for a natural glowing complexion.
Ahhh this brush guys, I love a good blush brush! This brush is soft and it definitely applied the blush perfectly. Also loved how soft it felt on my face. I always look for brushes that are gentle on my skin, and this brush delivered!
I did not get to use the duo fibre brush or the angled liner brush.
Right off the bat the sponge felt soft and fluffy! I dampened it before blending my foundation and concealer. I noticed that it didn't get humongous, but it still expanded to a decent size, honestly the size a beauty sponge expands to is not a deal breaker for me. As I was blending my foundation and concealer I noticed that the sponge kind of molded into the tips of my fingers which I didn't mind at all! I think that made it so much easier to get into tight corners as well as getting on the temples without messing up my eyeshadow! (I apply eyeshadow before foundation). The sponge definitely gave a nice flawless, soft finish to the foundation and concealer, that is a major plus for me! I really loved the sponge!
Last but not least, the blush! This blush is absolutely stunning! Very pigmented though, so if you buy it, be careful! I went in with a heavy hand at first and girl, mama had to do some extra blending lol. LOVE the blush nonetheless! It kind of reminds me of one of my ride or die Mac blush. I think this blush will become a permanent part of my family 🤗.
In summary, I believe the brushes are amazing, and coming in at a price of $95 down to $71.25 with the discount, for a set of 8 great brushes, it is definitely worth the money, plus this is a great set if you're just starting out and don't want to break the bank buying different brushes. They perform very well, and they feel extremely soft on the skin and you can pretty much do your entire face with just this kit. Also, the brushes are sold separately if you do not want to get the entire kit. The blush and sponge, you already know how I feel about those, definitely worth buying. The sponge costs $11 and the blush $18 and it is a pretty decent sized pan so I feel you get your money's worth.
Mikasa Beauty was kind enough to let me extend a 25% off discount code to my readers/followers! Head over to their site and use code ANAMAKEUPV25 at checkout to save some $$.
Here are some pictures I took after using the products (no facetune or smoothing filters used).
P.S. I'm not the greatest at applying makeup, but I wanted to show you pictures of what I did using the products so you can see that I ACTUALLY tried them lol.
I didn't do the best job wit the shadow, but I tried my best! lol
