Hi guys!!! It’s been a while! Quite a while! Sometimes we plan to do something and it just doesn’t work out that way! But hey! here I am! I wanted to give you guys a quick review of the Maskcara Beauty products I have been using. What’s Maskcara Beauty you may ask? Well, Maskcara Beauty is a new makeup and skincare company founded by the gorgeous Cara from Maskcara.com. I briefly mentioned her here in case you’re wondering how I know about her. Anyhow, I recently bought the some of the products and wanted to give you a quick review.
Let’s jump right in, shall we!?
Before I start, I want to say thanks to Kristen for inviting me their Maskcara Beauty virtual party. After seeing their live demonstrations on how the products work I decided I needed to try them! If you become interested in trying them, give Kristen a follow and message her on Instagram. She is awesome and super helpful!
Guys, these wipes are my new favorite!! Seriously gentle on the skin. I love that they have a cucumber-y smell to it! But most importantly I don’t feel that burning sensation you get with most makeup remover wipes. Their site description states “Using micellar technology, these cucumber scented wipes are like magnets for dirt and makeup, cleansing your skin and leaving it feeling toned and fresh!” The wipes do indeed cleanse so well, I was really pleasantly surprised! They are a bit pricey, coming in at $10.50, but because of its gentleness on the skin, I think the price is definitely justifiable.
This cleanser is very interesting in the fact that not only does it not foam, but when you cleanse your face, it feels a bit like rubbing oil (for lack of a better description lol). To be quite honest, when I use this I feel like I need to wash my face again because it feels just weird on the skin. And no, I am not saying it’s bad, actually do like it, but it takes some time to get used to this type of cleanser. This cleanser contains lactic acid serum.
“Lactic acid contains a wealth of highly active skin rejuvenating substances in naturally balanced proportions. Washing the skin with moderately or highly alkaline soap or detergents is one of the most common mistakes made that strips away the acid mantle.”
I really enjoy this cleanser, but it does take time to get used to it. Ok so price, it is pricey guys, most of her products are, let’s get that out there. This costs $45 for 3.4 oz. bottle.
This is my second favorite product out of the skincare stuff I purchased. I’m going to simply quote the description from their site because it is exactly what I want to rely here lol:
“Milk Creme is a moisturizer for face or any areas on the body. Milk Creme contains 16% natural milk components, and moisturizes the driest of skins, leaving even sensitive skin with a youthful glow. Enriched with natural honey, jojoba oil, extra virgin olive oil, and vitamins a and e. This cream helps diminish the appearance of fine lines while exfoliating and nourishing your skin. You’ll love how quickly it sinks in leaving your skin feeling soft and fresh rather than heavy and oily!”
This moisturizer is literally moisture in a jar! I love the consistency, which is a bit thick and which I don’t mind. Because of the thickness, you have to really work it into the skin. I use it on my face and my hands. The cream will really leave your skin feeling soft, hydrated and definitely glowing! Totally recommend! Price, $50 for 2oz. Pricey, but worth it!
They have a whole range of makeup! From eyeshadows to setting sprays. I only got the highlighter, contour, illuminator, and blush. You have the choice of getting a set that is already targeted toward lightest, light, light medium, medium and medium tan skin tones; or you can get a custom palette, which is what I got. So let’s break it down!
When we think highlighter, we immediately think, glow, but for this company, the highlighter is actually what’s used under the eyes, nose, etc. Almost like concealer, if you will. “A smooth and long lasting crème foundation used for brightening & highlighting. Use to cover dark circles.” They have a total of twelve shades, all the pans are .2 oz each at $14 each. I really like the way this product highlights under my eyes. It brightens and gives I would say light-medium coverage. The formula is smooth. I do suggest using a concealer/foundation brush to apply and you can use the sponge to blend.
You know, when you first look at these products they seem like they’re going to be drying and hard to blend, but they are actually super creamy and easy to blend. I love the contour shade Kristen helped me pick. The shade I got is Indigo, which I thought was too dark for me, but it actually blends out nicely and looks very nice on my skin tone. I use my contour brush to blend it and it worked out perfectly. I thought it was going to look dark even after blending, but again, I was pleasantly surprised.
Ok, so this is my least favorite. It’s not that the product is bad, I’m just not a fan of cream blushes. I find them hard to get them to a pigment I like and it scares me that it might ruin my makeup. I did, however, try it, the pigment is very light on the one I purchased, not sure if they’re all like that. LOVED it on the lips though! It gave a hint of a tint with a little sparkle on it, it looked really pretty. I got the shade Hollywood. They have six different shades to choose from.
The Illuminator is so pretty!! It is a shimmery cream, very lightweight and gives a very dewy, glow from within finish. However, if you like super popping highlighters, this one is not it.
The Verdict on Maskcara Beauty Products…
I think the convenience of having all your products in one tiny compact is absolutely amazing, especially if you lead a super busy life, if you are a mom with no time to do too much with makeup, this is perfect! The skincare products are also amazing. I like how gentle the products are and the packaging is so pretty! Also can’t forget the packaging! I do have a little complaint or two…I wished they’d list all the ingredients for both the skincare and makeup products. Also, the pricing is a bit up there. But all in all, these are really great products, if you can afford it, I would totally recommend them. I linked Kristen’s information at the beginning of this post, so reach out to her if you are interested in trying out anything!
Ok my loves, this is all I have for you today! It feels good to be writing! This is therapeutic for me! lol. I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful!
